Jackie Baldry - Manager , Designated safeguarding Lead (DSL) , Health and Safety Officer ( Joint role ) Student & Volunteer Mentor , First aider .
I first came to New Studio with my eldest boy in 1983 when he was 2. I did rota duty and loved it and was encouraged to train. When my youngest boy was here I became a 1:1 worker for a child with special needs. In 1987 I got a position here as a preschool leader, there were only two of us working here then. Now I am the manager of a team of 4. New Studio is a unique setting and is one of the many reason why I am still here over 30 years later. Jackie has been key worker for both of my boys. She has such a firm understanding of how unique children are and is passionate about learning through play and social interactions. She relishes children's fantastic imaginations, how funny they are, notices skills, acts of kindness and changes in ability and regularly points these out. Jackie has been quick to draw my eye to potential concerns and has been incredibly supportive and thoughtful giving me time and space and the experience of her knowledge to help over come these parenting hurdles. Jackie is a fantastic manager of New Studio, working ceaselessly to ensure the best for all the children in her care. |
Janice Storey - Deputy Manager, Wellcom coordinator, Forest School Lead , Health & Safety Officer , First aider .
My first experience of New Studio was as a parent when my children attended. I loved the friendly environment of New Studio and would often help out with the parent rota which was obligatory back then!!!! I returned as a student when completing my Degree in Early Years and was then lucky to be offered a full time position in 2014 and then in September 2018 became Deputy Manager.
I enjoy seeing the children develop in confidence and skills and working in partnership with parents. I am particularly proud of being part of the Forest School and looking forward qualifying as a Level 3 leader and leading the sessions with the children .
I have known Janice since she started at New Studio; not only is she patient, kind and has an incredibly calm way with the children; she’s such a committed early years practitioner. Janice has always been thoughtful about any of my children’s issues, she listens to concerns and responds in way that shows she knows and understands my child. I completely trust Janice to take care of my children as well as I do and to be fun and make sure learning through play is central to what they do at New Studio. She’s an excellent teacher and I’ve been very happy with how she’s looked after my child during his time at New Studio.

I joined New Studio as a 1:1 support worker in July 2021 and became an Early years practitioner in September 2022 . I was a child at New Studio , I did a placement here and both my children attended New Studio .I love being part of the staff team and enjoy seeing children learn and develop during their time here . |

Both my children attended New Studio Pre- school, when I was completing my level 3 I only wanted to do my placement here.
As I finished my qualification , I was offered the position of Support worker,
I love the atmosphere and ethos of the pre-school and I am so happy to be part of the time and working with the children and families.

I worked at New studio pre-school from 2016-2021. I loved being part of the team and being with the children, so i volunteer 3 days a week because New Studio is such a happy place to be.
